Beginners - The Basic Foundations Agility Class is for dogs that are just starting out in agility. Class size is limited and new students are selected following in-person tryouts each year.

When is the next opportunity to join an agility class?

An Open House/Tryout session is held each October. See the calendar for the exact date or email agility@milwaukeedog.com

What happens at the Open House & Registration?

You'll experience:

  • Introduction to the MDTC agility program
  • Q&A session
  • "Try-it" opportunity with equipment
  • Basic obedience testing
  • Registration for classes (if selected)

What are the basic requirements for my dog?

Your dog should have:

  • Reliable sit, stay, down, and come commands
  • Good impulse control
  • Handler focus
  • Confidence in trying new things
  • Desire to follow instructions

What is the class schedule?

Frequency: Weekly on Saturdays

Time: 8:00 AM - 9:45 AM (includes setup/reset time)

Duration: November through April


You must be able to attend weekly Saturday morning classes, commit to the full 5-month program, and participate in course setup and reset.

What do I need for registration?

Bring:

  • Completed registration form (Current or New member version)
  • Copies of required dog information
  • Payment (cash or check)
