Agility Classes

Agility is an exciting and growing sport where you and your dog run through an obstacle course against time. MDTC's agility classes range from basic to advanced. A new Foundation class typically starts in the Fall. When space is available, we offer year-round open enrollment for agility handler-dog teams who have completed basic or foundations levels classes. We welcome all dog breeds and mixes.

What Is Agility?

Dog agility is a competitive sport where a handler guides their dog through an obstacle course without touching them or using treats. The dog runs off-leash while the handler uses voice commands and body signals to direct them. Success depends on both speed and accuracy, with courses designed to require human guidance. The handler must make quick strategic decisions while maintaining precise control of their dog. Above all, the sport showcases the partnership and joy between handler and dog as they work together to navigate the course efficiently.
